Hello to All: What fun this is to hear everyone's story! It has been so long. I look forward to this coming reunion and plan to attend. After leaving Columbus and graduating from Auburn, I have lived in South America, San Francisco, Washington DC and then settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. Somewhere along the way I became a ski bum and could not leave the mountains here. I settled into a career in business and run the western division of a healthcare IT company. But mostly I am a Dad. I coach my sons in football and lacrosse. Sometimes I hear myself saying things Coach Ball used to say which amuses and frightens me at the same time.I am married to a remarkable woman, my wife of 16 years, Michelle. We have 6 children. The oldest is Zach (yes his name has something to do with Zach Wood) 14, Max 12, Tucker 10, Bailee 7, Aimee 5 and Cooper 3. Life is crazy but we feel blessed. I have had them all back to Columbus several times now as two of my sisters and mother still live there. I see Zach and Bryan when I am in town usually and saw Mike Bourne at the store when I was visiting last summer. He put me to shame with what great shape he was in. I can't wait to see everyone at the reunion. My memories are getting a little fuzzy and I need to sharpen them again. If any of you ever make it this way, please look me up. 15 months to lose 20 pounds! All the Best.

Jananne Johnston
Hello All! Guess it is time for me to chime in...I'm Jananne Johnston. It is interesting to see how many different paths we have taken as individuals. I'm very happily divorced. No kids, one cat. I worked for a mortgage company for 17 years (it sold several times and changed names, but I was always retained as an employee). In 2002, I moved to the Atlanta area and was able to join a law firm as a real estate paralegal. (Guess that Marketing Degree isn't being used after all.) In 2005, I completed a 2-year paralegal program at Kennesaw State University Continuing Education. I was recruited by a different firm and the attorney I worked for started his own firm two years ago and I went along for the ride. So, if you hear tales of the commute time in Atlanta, believe them, they are true. Ha! Looking forward to July 2009!!

I have worked for the government for over 22 years and now am a GS 11 Environmentalist for hem and have been one for over 15 years. The will come a day I don't have to go to work. Don't know when that will come but one day. I am in Warner Robins, GA at the Air Force base at this time. Just got married for the 2nd time (the first was over 20 years). This time it has only been 4 months and I think this is really for the rest of my life. He is a great man and is good to me and my child.

Beth Oetting here (Pullen now) I think I have all of you beat in the "children category (age & number). My husband, Mike (42-he graduated from Jonesboro High in '83) and I have six (yes, I said six)! I have three boys from my first marriage (Justin, 16; Ryan, 13 & Tyler, 10). Mike has two children-a son, Taylor (14) and Rebecca (11)....Okay, hold on to your hats.....and we have a brand new "surprise" addition-Madison age 10 months! Talk about busy! Mike and I have been married almost 2 years. Our children are very close and get along like the "Brady Bunch". Justin is a trainer for East Coweta High School (we live in Newnan) and loves '80's music, and Taylor and Ryan play football (Taylor is on JV and Ryan will be on the Freshman team next year). Rebecca plays soccer (currently on a break) and golf. Tyler plays football, and Madison is along for the ride. Needless to say, my profession is a taxi service. In between drop-offs, I am a para-pro at Tyler's school and have been for the last five years. As I was reading Tracy's story, I couldn't help but think about myself and Mike (although we did not meet on-line...he was Ryan's baseball coach). We both went through pretty bad divorces and became good friends first. It's amazing what God can do when you let Him. We dated two years and finally, after the kids kept asking when we were getting married, we set the date. On July 8, 2006 we (Mike, myself and all the kids) got married on the beach at Longboat Key. It was what I'd been waiting for my entire life (Rascal Flatts said it best in "God Bless the Broken Road"). In October of 2006, I found out we were pregnant. "Shock" is the only word that came to mind. Here I was, 40 years old and pregnant! After several weeks of anxiety, we knew she was God's gift to us....a true blessing. Now, at 42, I can't imagine life without her. She's beautiful and the kids love her. Tyler said it best, "Now we're not 'steps' anymore 'cause Madison is part of all of us." Mike works for Dan Cathy (of Chick-fil-a) and manages his estate (he's a landscape designer) and is going to school to get his Master's in Christian marriage counseling. As a family, we are very active in our church. It's great to hear so many of you are, too! Well, this has turned out to be longer than I expected (and pretty cheesy as well). I look forward to hearing updates and seeing you all at the reunion.

What It Do C/O 1984? Greetings from the "305" better known as the MIA or "Welcome to Miami!" We all are getting older but I think we are all getting better. Talk about kids, I have three. My oldest (18) graduates high school this year, my middle son (15) is in the 10th grade, and my baby (9) is in the 3rd grade. I moved to Miami, FL back in 2006 after five years in Phoenix AZ and a tour in Iraq...still fighting the war, I guess someone has to do it. (No I'm not married...divorced, imagine that!) I will be attending, so for all you "grown and sexy" people, please plan now so that we can have a great time together.

Hllo Everyone - It's been nice this morning seeing all that have replied on what you are doing now. I can't get over that it's been almost 25 yrs. Julie, you may be 42, but remember Beth Lancaster and I were the youngest two of our class, I'm having enough fun with dealing with 41.............lol. As for me I'm married with 3 wonderful teenagers, I just don't remember this much drama when we went to high school, but times do change. I recently finished my degree from Indiana University, studying for the CPA exam now and in July will be a Field Examiner for the Department of Revenue here in Indiana, so if any of you are here in this wonderful state that where the weather can't make up it's mind, watch your taxes, I'll be combing thru them.......lol. I'll see ya'll next year.

Hi to all...just when I thought I was doing pretty well I start reading about all you guys!!! I must say I think the class of 84 has a lot to be proud of!! Just a little about me: I'm divorced (8 yrs now) but have been dating a wonderful guy for the last 5 yrs. I have 2 wonderful kids, Drew who just turned 15 and Emily who is 10. I'm a RN and currently work as a Case Manager in the ICU at The Medical Center. If I have to work (and it appears I will have to for many, many years) I can't think of anything else I'd like to do. Good to hear from you all....I'm in the book for anyone who cares......See you next summer!!!

OK. Time to pile on from across the sea. I am sitting in Iraq in the middle of a shamal. That's a dust storm for us normal folks. I am finishing up my third month of a 15 month tour. My life is a country music song. I work in a palace and live in a trailer. I'm thinking of putting it to music. My wife Karen and I have been married for almost 19 years and have three beautiful kids. We are stationed at Fort Bragg, NC right now and really hoping to grow roots there. Right now we are just focusing on getting through this deployment. Hope to make the reunion this time. I was off somewhere last time. Looks like Perry and I have the same weird job in the Army. Odd how life turns out isn't it? ATW!!! (Means All the Way. It's a paratrooper thing.) http://www.fayobserver.com/article?id=293472

I don't know what happened to the rest of you. But I'm only 35. Living on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA. Place is great, lake is great, kids love it. I have 2 children. Thomas is 8 and Caroline just turned 3 last week. Thomas is an absolute genius who will definitely do some time behind bars before it’s over. And Caroline is not a genius and will probably entertain people for a living one day. Haven't decided whether it will be proudly or not just yet. I run the professional paintball tournament series around the country. I'm separated from my wife, but still married. Been with Jenny for 22 years or so. Good to see some of you reply and I look forward to seeing you guys next summer.

Everyone - this is a fantastic idea! I find it very interesting to see what everyone is doing. Personally, I have 1 wife (I don't live in Texas) and 4 children. We live in Columbus. The older 2 are actually stepchildren but I consider them my own. Lindsey (19) is working part-time and attending CSU. Jarrod (17) is my rebellious teenager who is finally getting his act together. Carley (9) has a photographic memory and is in the 98 percentile academically for her age. She is the daddy's girl, although I am not sure where the brains came from. Bailey (7) is also a straight "A" student but is also the drama queen. She is the funniest child I have ever met. Lorri (the wife) manages a cheerleading gym where all 3 girls are very active and compete at the national level. For me, I had a fascination with computers early on and stayed with it. I worked for TSYS for 13 years and left a Director position in 2000 to work for a financial services software company. I had a couple of consulting gigs and finally landed at Aflac headquarters in Columbus in a technology management role and love it. I also own a software development company which is writing software for the real estate industry. I lift weights, play racquetball, squash, softball, and swim every week. I like the variety and try to stay in shape. We go to church every week as a family and spend a lot of time doing things together. Our families are very close. Sadly, Lorri lost her father 2 weeks ago. He was 79 years old and an amazing man that I admired greatly. He was still playing softball every week. In fact, he always said that when he died he would want to go at home plate and that is exactly what happened. He appeared to be the picture of health. He came up to bat 2 Monday nights ago, held the bat high ready to hit and fell to the ground. He had a massive heart attack right there and we could not revive him. If you still have your parents, PLEASE do not take them for granted. Life can be shorter than you think. I didn't mean for this to be so long. I look forward to seeing you all soon. May God bless you all.

I didn't graduate from Shaw...I moved away after my freshman year to Macon, Georgia. My HS in Macon has yet to have a reunion. Pretty sad but it's okay I have more of a connection to Columbus since I went to school there from Kindergarten thru 9th grade. For me it's been more like 27 years since the last time I seen ya'll. I'm looking forward to the reunion and know it will be a great time just to see old friends and catch up and reminisce about the good ole' days. I am 42, I've been married for almost 10 years. Sure had to kiss a lot of toads before I found my prince charming. I have one daughter (21), 3 step kids (who live with their mom in south Florida) 2 boys (16 & 15) and one girl 14 and one grandson (3) and one dog Roxy a yellow lab. I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I work for the State Attorney's Office and am going into my 21st year there. I have 10 years to go (15 if I do 5 years in the Florida retirement program DROP) before I can retire. WOO HOO I can't wait for that. My husband is in the Navy....20 years and still going. Right now my husband and I have custody of our grandson so we are starting all over again but it has been fun and we wouldn't change it for the world. He brings us a lot of joy!! Thank God....we're young enough to keep up with him....he sure is a busy body. But he keeps us in smiles so it's all good. We ll guys this is what's going on in my life. I'd love to hear from more of ya'll. Take Care.

Hi! It's neat to see what everyone is doing these days. It may come as no surprise that I am still into athletics. After years of coaching gymnastics, I have settled into the Fitness Industry as a Personal Trainer and have competed in Triathlons since 2006. The man of my dreams walked into my life in 2002 and we married in 2004. We live near Orlando and have a total of four kids (ages 11-17). We stay quite busy at home, at church and at play. Bill and I lead an early teen Bible study group at church while each of our 4 monkeys keep us on the run with things like: saxophone lessons, swimming in the nearby lake, football, band, theater and just being social. While incredibly draining, we are so blessed by the task of raising these awesome kids. Recently Bill and I got stranded overnight in the swamp while kayaking (with bears, snakes and 40 degree temps) and had to get rescued... pretty exciting! My Dad and I went to Australia this spring for 2 weeks (you have to go!) and I'm fortunate to be the Team Captain of the Disney World Marathon for the Children's Tumor Foundation. I absolutely LOVE my life and feel so richly blessed to where I am today. God is merciful and good. It is going to be so much fun getting to "re-know" you better as we get closer to our Reunion!

Fonda Brown
Greetings from C-Town. After high school, I skipped college and joined the Army (following in my father's footsteps) and served for only 5 years (those were bigger shoes to fill than I thought). I have been divorced for a little over 4 yrs. and have 3 children: Amber 22, Adarius 19, and Auston 6 (don't laugh, it could happen to you). My older two kids are both married. My oldest son is in the Army and my daughter and son-in-law live with me and are full-time students. I moved back to Columbus in 1991 in order to take care of my mother (she passed away in '06). As for my career, I have worked in the realm of Quality Control for approx. 17 years and am currently employed with Synovus Financial Corp. as a Process Engineer (received my CQIA National Certification last month -yay me!). It's an interesting job but my ultimate goal is entrepreneurship and to hold the title of "Inventor". Pray for my success and I'll see ya next year.
